Setup help and troubleshooting.

If SATTS Keyboard is installed but not behaving the way you expect, this page covers the first things to check before you assume the mapping is wrong.

Enable the keyboard

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards.
  3. Tap Add New Keyboard.
  4. Select SATTS.
  5. In any app, tap the globe key to switch to SATTS.

Quick checks

Issue What to check
The keyboard is not visible. Confirm SATTS was added in iOS Keyboard settings and that you switched to it with the globe key.
A sequence looks wrong. Check whether it is a digraph like WE or IE, or whether it is documented as an app convenience.
I expected a different letter form. Review the guide and note that SATTS core mappings and UI convenience actions are documented separately.

Known scope of the app

This is a SATTS keyboard, not a general Arabic IME.

The app is optimized around SATTS transliteration. Users expecting a phonetic Arabic keyboard should be pointed to the guide before assuming the keyboard is broken.

Small convenience features are documented explicitly.

The app may include a few practical iOS shortcuts, but those are meant to supplement SATTS, not replace it.
